WHAT IS COMPLETE ATHLETE?
Complete Athlete is Beyond Potential's core group training program. Complete Athlete is a unique, constantly evolving system of training that is designed to comprehensively prepare each athlete for the physical & mental demands of sports. Complete Athlete is the ultimate program for young and older athletes in its dedication to preparing athletes for every aspect of athletic development in order to maximize their overall athletic ability. This class is unlike others in its promotion of camaraderie, competition, teamwork, confidence & effort. Although the Complete Athlete Program Design is in a group setting, it incorporates individual modifications & corrective prescriptions for each specific athlete based on their needs, skill level, sport, weaknesses, & goals/ objectives. (these modifications must be uncovered in Complete Athlete 101)
Classes break up athletes based on age (2 groups) & run the Complete Athlete Class daily for approximately 1-hour classes. Monthly Memberships can be purchased based on the number of classes per week or month you are interested in.
Complete Athlete Group Breakdown:
Youth Complete Athlete (grades 4th- 6th)
Middle School/ High School/ College Complete Athlete (grades 7th- up)
The only difference between each program is the ages and skill level of the participants. Technically & philosophically one class is not more advanced than the other. The classes break up the ages of the athletes in order to design workouts more specific to the needs & ability level of their age groups. If an older athlete starts training at a later stage in their career, they will be put through the same progression of skill development that a youth beginner would. The focus is on teaching technique, mastering it, and progressing to more advanced skills.
WHAT IS THE INTRODUCTION TO COMPLETE ATHLETE
Beyond Potential requires all athletes to enroll in INTRODUCTION TO COMPLETE ATHLETE prior to entering the Complete Athlete group training program. INTRO TO CA is a pre-requisite to the Complete Athlete. INTRO to AA is an introductory, two class program designed to:
1. introduce athletes to the most important movements, skills, and principles of the Complete Athlete Training System
2. Allow new participants to get comfortable with the flow of the classes & coaches personalities & terminologies by spending time in a slower, smaller environment that spends more times teaching & explaining common exercises & drills.
3. Ultimately, INTRO to CA serves as a comprehensive assessment for new athletes. This assessment includes:
A. Functional Movement Screen (FMS) to provide an overview of the stability & mobility of an athlete
B. Scores of standard assessment tests providing baselines in areas such as speed, agility, strength, power, & flexibility.
C. Rating in the overall mechanics of every aspect of athletic development.
At the end of the program, the BP Staff will explain & discuss their results with an Individualized Athletic Report Card that breaks down the assessment and shows the strengths & weaknesses of the athlete. The coach along with the parents and the athlete/ client discuss the results, set up specific goals to improve upon, & decide the best training plan going further to achieve these goals.
